Power in the Tongue

Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. The words that we speak frame our lives. Our words have power. By words, God spoke the world into existence. Genesis 1:1-3 “In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the water. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.” He spoke, and it was so. When we speak God’s word, it will be so. Ask yourself, what am I saying? Am I engaging in negative talk? Am I speaking words that align with God’s purpose and word? Or am I speaking things contrary to what I desire.  Be mindful of what you’re saying, listen intently to your words, and I’m sure you’d be surprised by what is coming out of your mouth. Begin to take inventory of your words. Don’t speak scarcity and expect prosperity. Don’t speak sickness when you want health. Speak what you want.  Sometimes we’re a product of words that were spoken to us and over our lives. You may have grown up in a household where someone constantly berated you. Maybe your parents were condemning and negative. Perhaps you’ve listened to the voices of countless others around you who have spoken word curses over you. Today, cancel those word curses spoken over your life and commit to speaking God’s word!

I’ve spoken word curses over myself and even agreed with those negative words spoken to me by others.  I’ve also struggled with people-pleasing for most of my life (resulting from rejection). However, I’ve realized that you will never succeed in pleasing people because it’s an endless cycle.  Recognize that individuals have internal wars that they’re fighting that have absolutely nothing to do with you; it’s not personal.  Our job is to please God. We can and should assist and be a blessing to others but never to the point where we’re doing things to be accepted. Repeat after me: I’m Accepted in the Beloved.! I’m Accepted in the Beloved.”

Words matter! It’s not what others say about you that truly matters; it’s what you say about you that has an impact on your life. Speak life over yourself and your situations!!! Life and death are in the power of the tongue. Be mindful of what you say about yourself and others! Proverbs 18:21. In Matthew 12:36, it says, “But I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.” Choose your words wisely and speak life.

Let’s pray,

Father, it’s in the name of Jesus that we come before you. We thank you for life, for strength, and for a sound mind. We ask you to empower us by the Holy Spirit and help us be conscious of our words and actions. Let us live a life that’s pleasing to you. We love you! In Jesus’ name, we pray.

How can I blessed?

What does it mean to be blessed? How do you know if you’re blessed? Is material wealth indicative of blessing? Deuteronomy 28 says, “And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord. You’ll be blessed in the city, field, blessed when you go in, and blessed when you go out.” The Lord shall cause thine enemies that rise against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way and flee before thee seven ways. He declares that we would be the head and not the tail, lender, not a borrower. Who wouldn’t blessings to overtake them? Hand raised; I know I do!

The scripture doesn’t end there; it says what happens if we don’t observe His commandments. “But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee and overtake thee. Instead of being blessed in the city, you will be cursed in the city, in the field, cursed in the body, cursed when you come in, and cursed when you go out. There are consequences to our actions! If you’re anything like me, I ask God to have mercy on me for the things that I have done (will do) in my life that are contrary to his will and a result of my disobedience. I’m notorious for procrastination. I was enlightened by a statement shared on Social Media that the root of procrastination is rebellion, yep, rebellion! Here I was, excusing procrastination, putting off what I should do now until later. How arrogant of me to think that I have “time.”

The scriptures referenced above are from the Old Testament, and some may argue that we are under a new covenant (which is true) and doesn’t apply because we are under grace. Are we under grace absolutely but let’s see what Jesus says about obedience? In Luke chapter, Jesus was teaching the disciples the format of prayer and sharing with them how much the Father gives good gifts to His children, including the Holy Spirit to them that ask him. Jesus went on to cast out a devil, and they accused Him of being connected with the devil, and Jesus, in His eloquent way, explained how a divided kingdom could not stand. He also shared a biblical principle on deliverance (read the chapter). When the crowd gathered, a woman who was in the midst said to Jesus, “Blessed is the womb that bares thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked.” But He replied, “Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.” It seems to me that we are blessed as a result of our obedience. In John, Jesus 14:15, “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” John 15:14. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. In Romans 2:13 it says, “For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law; 13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.” Let us also reference our perfect example, Jesus. The word of God says that “Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him.”

Obedience is better than sacrifice. But besides our obedience being a blessing to us, it also benefits others. Similarly, our disobedience causes others to miss out on what God wanted to use us to do, affecting those around us! Let us be intentional in all that we do. Step out in faith and do what the Father has instructed you to do. It will bear fruit. Our Father is faithful. I challenge you to be quick to obey even if you don’t fully understand. Each act of obedience is how we learn more and more to be led by the spirit of God. I believe with you!!!

Let’s pray…

Father, it’s in the of Jesus that we come before you. First, we thank you for life and strength. We ask you to forgive us for our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Father, empower us by your spirit to walk in obedience to your will. We desire to live lives that are pleasing to you. Help us realize that our obedience directly affects others so that we’ll be quick to obey. Father, I ask that you give unto us a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of you. Help us to be examples of your love in this world. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.

Power

My thoughts of late have been centered upon fulfilling God’s purpose in my life and seeing God’s power in the earth. The word of God says that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever. That means that the tangible power of God should be evident in the body of Christ. When was the last time you sensed God’s presence at a service or in your home? I asked myself the following questions-Am I in a position to be used as a vessel to heal the sick, set the captives free when I may be bound, preach power yet living in fear? Hmmmmm.

This week I was blessed by a virtual service. The presence of God was manifest! The power of God was evident. I had been struggling with some things, but the power of God set me free during that 5-hour service (yes, 5 hours). When you have a moment, please check out Covered by God with Tiphani on Youtube- You will be blessed. The service began with worship and set the atmosphere for the Holy Spirit to move and minister prophetically. Under the leading of the Holy Spirit, the worship leader began to sing, “do surgery on me.” Surgery on me! The Spirit of God was working on me, and I’m sure countless others, as she sang those words. It was personal for everyone in attendance and those who were watching remotely. It’s easy to point out what we think needs to be fixed in others, but our focus should be on ourselves.

The Father wants to use us, but more importantly, He desires to change us! He’s looking for maturity, not perfection. The Father wants us to be led by the spirit and not the flesh. Paul says the following to the Corinthian church, “However, brothers and sisters, I could not talk to you as spiritual people, but [only] as to worldly people [dominated by human nature], mere infants [in Christ]! I fed you with milk, not solid food, for you were not yet able to receive it. Even now, you are still not ready. You are still worldly [controlled by ordinary impulses, the sinful capacity]. For as long as there is jealousy and strife and discord among you, are you not unspiritual, and are you not walking like ordinary men [unchanged by faith].” 1 Corinthian 3:1 AMP. As believers, our practice shouldn’t be to gossip about one another, to spread discord, and then smile in each other’s face and from the same mouth say to one another how much we love them.  What type of love is that? I can tell you it’s not 1 Corinthians 13 (agape) love. We must do better. During this service, the woman of God spoke about the spirit of offense being released in the earth to bring division. It’s true. If you speak the truth in love, folks are offended. We’re offended by this; we’re offended by that. We don’t like this; we don’t like that. He/she shouldn’t do this; he/she shouldn’t do that. The word God gave for the body of Christ, and I’m echoing, is “GROW UP.”  It’s time for us to put away childish things. (1 Corinthians 13:11). How can we expect to operate in the power and authority of God if we’re so carnal and controlled by the flesh?

In Acts chapter 1, the Holy Spirit through Paul says, “But ye shall receive power (dunamis) after the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and to the uttermost part of the earth.” What is power? Merriam-Webster defines power as a) ability to act or produce an effect, b) legal or official authority, capacity, or right. The Greek words for power are dunamis (pronounced doonamis), which means miraculous power, ability, abundance, strength, and exousia, which means authority, especially moral excellence. Today, we’ll focus on dunamis. Luke 9:1 says, “When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases.” As disciples of Christ, we are supposed to operate in power. Where is our power? Are folks being saved, delivered, encouraged, and pushed closer into their destiny? Where is the manifestation of the Holy Spirit when we gather? Or are we coming together to socialize? There has to be more! I want more of God! I hope my brother my sister that this is your desire too. Let us get ourselves out the way, seek the Father while He may be found, put away childish things, and be the church for real. Let us move in power for real. It’s no point in having a form of godliness, but no power be evident in your life. Let us come up higher! Let us be the church for real!

Let’s pray,

Father, it’s in the name of Jesus that we come before you. Father, we love you. We ask you to forgive us for our sins.  You said in your word in 1 John 1:9  that if we confess our sins, you are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and will cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Forgive us for leaving our first love. We choose this day to put away childish things and walk in obedience to your word. We love you, and we desire more of you. In Jesus’ name, we pray Amen.

Who’s in the White House

Hey everyone!

We are just about one month into the “New Year,” and so much has occurred in a short period. There was an insurrection at the Capitol, the 47th President of the United States’ Inauguration, and a change in administration. Many are rejoicing at the shift in the administration and are hoping for a better tomorrow. I’ll admit it’s encouraging to see a woman of color as Vice President of the United States. While all of this is seemingly good, we cannot lose sight of what is vital.

I’m not here to rain on the proverbial parade, nor am I a Trump proponent. The only person I’m endorsing is God. I’m not overly concerned with who’s in the White House but rather who’s on the throne. As many are screaming that they want things to return to normal, I think that ship has sailed. Stop spreading doom and gloom, you say. I promise you this is no doom and gloom message-there is hope!!

It’s time to ensure that you have an authentic organic relationship with the Father. If you’re distracted, it’s time to get focused! Time is of the essence. More importantly, if you don’t know Christ, this is the optimal time to change that. You don’t want to die in your sins and live eternally separated from Christ. Every person born on this earth is born in sin-yes, even the cutest, cuddliest baby. Many people are familiar with the account of Adam and Eve. God created man in His image and likeness and had given man ONE commandment which was not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. They had permission to eat from the other trees, just not that one! The enemy (in the form of a serpent) approached Eve and began to speak to her things contrary to what God commanded, thus causing her to question God. The enemy’s tricks and tactics are still the same today. He causes us to doubt what God has told us! After Adam and Eve ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, their eyes were open to both good and evil. God previously warned them that if they ate from the tree, they would die. Adam and Eve didn’t immediately drop dead once they ate the fruit.  I’m sure they were surprised, they died spiritually (separation from God), which ultimately led to their physical death. God did not prohibit them from eating from the tree because He was holding anything back from them. It was a form of protection. The Father protects us in the same fashion today! But back to the narrative. Adam and Eve’s eyes were opened, and they realized that they were naked before God. This act of disobedience got them booted from the garden, and each day they were one step closer to death.

In God’s original plan, man was to live forever; however, when Adam and Eve sinned, they could no longer live forever in that state. While the Father was disappointed, He still covered Adam and Eve with animal skins, and until the day that Jesus died on the cross, He required the blood of an animal to cover our sins temporarily. Every person born after would be subject to corruption and in need of a savior. The Good news is that God, in His infinite wisdom, had a plan of redemption. He sent His only begotten Son to be the sacrifice for humanity. Romans 5:17 (AMP) “For if by the trespass of the one (Adam), death reigned through the one (Adam), much more surely will those who receive the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness reign in [eternal] life through the One, Jesus Christ. Jesus died on the cross for both you and me to reconcile us back to the Father, which was the original plan. I get so excited to share this news with you! God has a plan for every person on this earth! He offers the gift of salvation to both you and me. If you’re anything like me- I love gifts. Accept this gift today, don’t put it off another day. If we learned anything in 2020, it’s the adage “life is short’. Since we aren’t privy to the day or the time, we’re going to leave this earth, I implore you to get right with God. How can I get right with God?? I’m glad you asked. First, you must believe that Jesus came to this earth (there’s evidence of this truth) that He was ridiculed, beat, and ultimately hung on a cross for you and me, died, and rose from the dead in ALL POWER. Confess with your mouth that you believe that He died for your sins, and you’ll be saved from the wrath to come. Yes, it’s that simple- So what are you waiting for. He’s calling you today. He wants to relate to you. It’s the most crucial decision that you’ll ever make in your life.

If you’ve prayed this prayer welcome to the family of God. It’s essential to connect to a local body that preaches the truth of God’s word, be in fellowship with like-minded believers.

Send an email to bleedingheartministries43@gmail.com for prayer and or questions.

God bless you all. There’s no act too big that you can’t be forgiven! Trust God!

Let’s pray,

Father, it’s in the name of Jesus that we come to you. Father, thank you for the words that you’ve placed in my heart. Thank you to every person that’ll read this blog let you touch them. I pray that those who may not know you come into the knowledge of the truth. I pray that the blindness is removed from their mind so that they could receive the light of the gospel and be saved. I thank you that you came for the lost, and I thank you for finding me. I pray for those believers who are distracted. I pray that every distraction is removed and that they return to their first love. Father, we thank you for salvation, protection, healing, and for the opportunity to have a relationship with you. Thank you for being alive and not a statue or some inanimate object. Thank you for being the Alpha and Omega, beginning and the end, the one who is (existing forever) and who was (continually existing in the past) and who is to come, the Almighty [the Omnipotent, the Ruler of all] in Jesus name, Amen

Be Blessed!

Project Makeover

After being in quarantine for close to a year, even the most introverted person goes stir crazy. I miss visiting family and friends and being able to venture outdoors without wearing a mask!  Nevertheless, I’m grateful!!!

In my downtime, I enjoy watching shows about home makeovers. I recently downloaded the game Project Makeover. The theme of the game Project Makeover is to provide “desperately needed makeovers to help people achieve their dreams” It dawned on me that we as believers had a similar metamorphic experience. We were separated from God, living in sin, and were in danger of hellfire and judgment, which we rightly deserved. But God in His infinite wisdom and love had a plan to reconcile the world to Himself! 2 Corinthians 5:19 “To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. When we gave our lives to the Lord, it was as if we went through a “makeover” experience. He created us all for a specific purpose and to fulfil the calling on our lives.  We became new creatures in Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” Although we are saved when we invited Jesus into our hearts, we must grow. God provided instructions to help make this transformation evident.  Prayer (fellowship), yielding to the Holy Spirit’s guidance (obedience), renewing our minds by the Word of God all aid in our spiritual growth and allows for us to be shaped into the image of His dear Son.

As this year closes, decide to draw closer to God. Let us be consistent in prayer, quick to obey, read/study the word, spread the Gospel, help those in need, and be available to be used! These are not the days to be so consumed with activities and distractions that we fail to maintain our relationship with the Lord. 2020 was a year of loss, pain, confusion, and uncertainty-but through it all, God kept us!

Father, we thank you for your faithfulness and love. We thank you for your protection, provision, and mercy. As 2020 comes to a close, we ask that you continue to lead us by your Spirit. Empower us to love like you and put ourselves aside to fulfill your purpose.  We love you.

Happy New Year!

King of Kings

How to approach the King

Let me start by saying that it doesn’t matter who is in the White House, Trump or Biden. God is still on the throne!!! Man is man and is imperfect. That is why we must put our trust in the only true and living God!!

King is defined as (1) the male ruler of an independent state, especially one who inherits the position by right of birth. (2) a male monarch of a major territorial unit, especially one whose position is hereditary and rules for life. King in Strong’s concordance as basileus- leader of the people, prince, commander, lord of the land.

Our King has not inherited his title by birth because before the foundation of the earth, “I AM.” He is the self-existent one (existing independently of other beings or causes). This truth may be difficult to reconcile as we know that a person is born into this earth by a woman. How can He be self-existent?

So how are we to approach the King? In the natural, we approach Kings and Queens with honor and respect. How much more so when we approach the King eternal. 1. Timothy 1:17 “Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory forever and Amen.” The Father gives us instructions on how to come before Him. Psalms 100 “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto Him, and bless his name. Even in the book of Esther, there was a specific protocol Esther had to follow when approaching the King. At that time, a person could be put to death if they went into the inner court without being called. Esther 4:11 “ All the king’s servants and the people of the king’s provinces, do know that whosever, whether man or woman, shall come unto the into the inner court, who is not called, there is one law of his to put him to death, except such to whom the king shall hold out the golden sceptre, that he may live: but I have not been called to come in unto the king these thirty days.” How much more so are we to appropriately come before the King of Kings. There’s divine protocol in the Kingdom of God. We have to be mindful that although He is our Heavenly Father, He is also the creator of the world. Let us reverence His presence, give honor to His name, and always have a heart of thanksgiving, for He is worthy!

The Father desires to know you-yes you!

Let’s pray.

Father God, it’s in the name of Jesus that we approach your throne. We come to you with a heart of expectation. Father, we thank you for the opportunity to commune with you. We love you and adore you. We thank you that we no longer have to go through a priest to gain access to you! Father, we ask for forgiveness even as we forgive those who have trespassed against us. We desire to grow and look more like Jesus, who is the only way to salvation. Thank you for keeping and protecting us daily! Let us look to be a blessing and the answer to someone’s prayer. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

It’s All A Part of The Plan

2020 is a year that I’m sure we’ll never forget. This year was filled with shock, awe, loss, and pain. Yet it was also a period in which families had the opportunity to reconnect, spend more time together, and appreciate life and each other. Even though many of us were not prepared for this year, God was. He knows the end from the beginning. Revelation 22:13 “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Nothing catches Him by surprise!

The things in our lives that seemingly catch us off guard, God the Father had foreknowledge of-even our deviations from the plan. The divine design for our lives includes many twists and turns as opposed to the straight and safe path we envisioned. Life can knock you down. I know all too well. I had “a woe is me” mindset for so many years. I blamed God for many things that occurred in my life. I often asked why me, or why did you allow this to happen to me? I walked around, feeling rejected and unqualified. (still working through this) I love the adage that God doesn’t call the qualified, He qualifies the called. If we could carry out His plan in our strength and wisdom, we wouldn’t need Him. God’s plan is impossible for the natural man. To fulfill His purpose, we need His SUPER on our natural to operate in the “supernatural.” Many of us believe that this walk with the Lord is free from trouble, hurt, pain, and challenges. Jesus never promised us a life without challenges. John 16:33 “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of cheer; I have overcome the world.” It seems easy when you’re not going through. Amid a storm, we may feel alone-but be we must remember that He said He would never leave us or forsake. “God is not a man, that He should lie, neither the son of man, that He should repent: hath He said, and shall He not do it? or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good.” Numbers 23:19. People may lie to us, but our Father is incapable of lying, for He is the epitome of truth.

We also have a part to play in this thing called life. Some decisions that our parents, grandparents made, and some of our choices were not a part of God’s original plan. He gave us free will (sometimes I wonder why, lol). However, even when we go off course, the Father works to get us back on track. Romans 8:28 “And we know all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose.” Our hurts, struggles, and pain are a part of the plan and are used to mold us into the image of His dear Son.

A close friend of mine always says, “God never wastes anything!” The loss you may have experienced, the betrayal, the hurt, the divorce, the pain will be used as an instrument to bring healing in someone else’s life. We are placed in uncomfortable positions for us to develop and grow. We’re also not ignorant of the devil’s devices, and it is our responsibility to maintain our relationship with the Lord and exercise our God given authority over the enemy.

Remember-It is all a part of the plan!!!

Let’s Pray-

Father, it’s in the name of Jesus that we come before you. Father, we first say thank you, thank You for Your love, mercy, and grace. Lord, even when we don’t have all of the answers, we trust You and know that it’s all a part of the plan. We ask that You give unto us the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of you. We ask that the eyes of our understanding be enlightened and that we may know what is the hope of Your calling. Lord, we want to walk worthy of You and be fruitful in every good work. Help us to put self aside and focus on You and Your will. In Jesus name, we pray, Amen.

Be blessed.

Until next time…

Rooted

Dictionary.com defines rooted as having roots. Root means to implant or establish deeply. The Greek word for rooted in Strong’s Concordance is rhizoo (G4492) -to cause, to strike root, to strengthen with roots, to render firm, to fix, establish, cause a person or a thing to be thoroughly grounded. In John 15, Jesus says that He is the true vine, and the Father is the husbandman. “Every branch in me that beareth not fruit He taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, He purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit….Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me”. Jesus says that I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing(no-thing). If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is cast forth withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. If (is conditional which means it’s based on certain conditions or requirements made) ye abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. In the natural, a branch cannot live separate from the vine as it cannot draw the required nutrients from the source and grow. So it is in the Spirit if we are not connected to the True Vine, we are unable to tap into our spiritual nutrients, develop and produce fruit (the qualities and characteristics of the Holy Spirit). Oh-but, if we stay connected, we begin to grow. In the process of developing and bearing fruit, the Father removes the unnecessary, unlovely parts of our character so that we resemble Christ more and more.

We need to be close to the Father’s heart. With so much chaos and turmoil in this world, He is our only constant! If we are not rooted in Christ and in God’s word, we won’t be able to withstand the great shaking that is coming and is going on the world. Just look at the parable of the two builders in Matthew 6:24-27. Jesus says that those who hear/read His sayings and does them He compares them to a wise man who built their house upon a rock. When the rain came, and the floods came, the winds blew and beat upon that house. The house did not fall because it was founded on the rock. Now for the other man who built his house on sand, his outcome was different. The rain descended on the house, the floods came, the winds blew and beat upon that house, and it fell and great was its fall. We can’t make it in this world without God and the word of God. Death, disease, lawlessness, racial tensions and all that is happening in the world is overwhelming and if we’re not careful we can become discouraged, depressed and hopeless. But we must have our hope in Christ and in the word that is yet alive.  Let us take a look at the parable of the soils in Matthew 13:3-9. When the word is sown, it falls on different types of ground (hearts). “The sower went forth to sow. Some seed (word) fell by the wayside, and the fowls came and devoured them up. Some fell upon stony places where they had not much earth, and when the sun came up, they were scorched because they had no root, they withered away, some fell among thorns, and the thorns came up and chocked them out.

Other seeds fell on good ground and brought forth fruit at different levels”. Jesus explained the parable as such, when anyone hears the word and doesn’t understand it, the wicked one (Satan) comes and snatches the word away. The person who received the seed (word) into stony places hears the word and immediately receives the word with joy, but it is only temporary. He has no root, so when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, he stumbles and falls away [“abandoning the one who is the source of salvation”] AMP(Amplified Version). The one who seed was sown among thorns is the one who hears the word but the worries and distractions of the world and the deceitfulness [“the superficial pleasures and delight] of riches and chokes the word so that it yields no fruit”], AMP. The one whose seed was sown on good ground is the person who hears the word, understands and grasps it; he indeed bears fruit and yields fruit some a hundredfold, sixty and thirty. Let us be the person who receives the word on good ground. Whenever we fall off, we must pick ourselves up and run back to Jesus! Let’s stay connected.

Father, it’s in the name of Jesus that we come to you. Father, we ask that you help us stay connected to you. Lord, empower us by the Spirit to live according to Your will. Open the eyes of our heart and give unto to us a spirit of revelation into the intimate knowledge of You. Help us to see ourselves the way you see us!  We love you! In Jesus’ name.

Be blessed.

One Accord

In recent days, there’s been discord among believers about various topics from sage to yoga, causing a lot of confusion. But we know that God is not the author of confusion but peace. (1 Corinthians 14:33) We are to dwell together in unity like Paul exhorts the church of Corinth. Ephesians 4:1-6 “I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body, and one Spirit even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. He’s urging us to walk in obedience and to remain humble. God created every one of us with unique attributes and purposes. As individuals, we will have disagreements, differences in opinions, and various ways of executing tasks. And you know what that is entirely okay and to be expected. Embrace who God created you to be. Be confident and content in your giftings and the way the Father communicates with you. Let’s NEVER compare ourselves with others. All of our journeys are tailor-made specifically for us. While it is absolutely acceptable for us not to agree on somethings, it is never okay when it comes to the things of the Spirit and the word of God! As believers, we must study to show ourselves approved, rightly dividing the word of truth, and this is how we will be able to discern what we hear and see. Don’t be deceived into believing that just because someone names the name Christ that everything that they say is Holy Spirit inspired or for that matter the word of God. People sometimes share their opinions and beliefs. I’m here to tell you that if it doesn’t line up with the word, throw it out. God is a God of relationships and flows through this type of paradigm. We must link with those who God has connected us to, for these individuals will be instrumental in our walk. We’ll need to be prayerful and discerning. It will be evident when we’ve found our “tribe” as things will mesh and flow naturally. Be quick to forgive, walk-in integrity, and cultivate those relationships.

What does with one accord mean? With one accord is the Greek word homothymadon. Homothymadon means with one mind, with one accord, with one passion. Homothymadon is a compound of two words meaning to “rush along” and in “unison.” “The image is almost musical, a number of notes are sounded, which while different, harmonize in pitch and tone. As the instruments of a great concert under the direction of a concertmaster, so Holy Spirit blends together the lives of members of Christ’s church”. (Blue Letter Bible). The church is God’s symphony, and in this type of atmosphere, Holy Spirit is at liberty to move as the Father wills.

A few examples of this are in Acts 2: 1-4, “And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Acts 2:42-47 “And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles. And all that believed were together, and had all things in common; And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need. And they, continued daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved. Wow -we had it all wrong. This is the CHURCH! I personally believe that the body of Christ (church) will once again return to foundational principles and roots. Acts 5:11-12 “And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many, as heard these things. And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s porch. Matthew 18:19-20 “Again, I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them. The Father wants us to dwell in unity, and when we are unified and on one accord, He manifests Himself in our midst. Let’s aim to live peaceably as much as it is within our control.

Father, it’s in the name of Jesus (the only name by which all men can be saved) that we come to you. We ask that you give unto us a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You, that eyes of our understanding be enlightened that we may know what is the hope of Your calling. Father, draw us closer to You. Strengthen us to put away those things that you have required of us. Help us sew to the Spirit and not the flesh so that we can reap everlasting life. We ask Lord that you help us live lives of consistency. Empower us to walk in all that you have predestined for our lives, for you knew us before we were formed in our mother’s womb. We love you in Your son Jesus’ name.

Suppose you’re reading this blog and have not received Jesus as your Lord and Savior, this is the opportune time to accept Him. Why should I accept Him, you ask? All of humanity was born in sin from the cutest baby to the oldest man living on the earth. God’s ultimate desire was to have a relationship with his creation. This foundational principle is where all other relationships are derived. In the beginning, God created man (Adam) in His image and shortly after that created woman (Eve). Adam and Eve enjoyed uninhibited fellowship with God, until one fateful day when Satan deceived Eve by causing her to doubt God’s word. And believe me, Satan is still using this tactic to this day. Adam and Eve both disobeyed God’s command and ate from a tree that they were instructed not to.

We see this behavior in children and even in adults, right? The more we are told not to do something, the more we want to do it. That right, there is the sin nature in operation. Back to Adam and Eve-when, they ignored the instructions from God, and they immediately recognized something was different about them. Instead of being excited about communicating and hanging out with their creator, they were ashamed, embarrassed, and afraid. It’s just like children when they do something that they were warned not to do and hear their parents call for them, they become frightened and, if possible, avoid interacting with their parents. But even in their disobedience, God temporarily covered their sin, but they would no longer be able to dwell in God’s presence (this happens when we sin). By this sin entered into the world and affected every person born on this earth.

I know it seems that we are without hope. Oh, but I have some good news for you. God has a plan of reconciliation for us!! He sent His only begotten son (Jesus)to earth to live among men, teach, heal and set the captives free. There are no multiple roads that lead to heaven. There is only ONE way- JESUS. Jesus is the way, the truth and the light and no one can come to the Father except through Him. You see, in God’s eyes, we are spiritual criminals and will be judged as such. However, He sent His Son, who was without sin, to take our punishment. Why? Because He wants to fellowship with His creation. He desires involvement in every aspect of our lives. Jesus was beaten, mocked, and crucified on a cross for my sins and your sins. He died, was buried, and rose again on the third day in ALL POWER!, and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father. God wants you to know that even if you believe that you are a mistake. I don’t care if your parents didn’t want you at birth. I don’t care if you grew up in foster care or a dysfunctional household. You were always in the mind of God. He knew before your parents created you. He wants to walk with you through life and reveal to you why you were created and for what purpose. YOU HAVE PURPOSE. YOU ARE IMPORTANT. YOU MATTER. GOD LOVES YOU AND WANTS TO COMMUNE WITH You-yes YOU! How can I experience that? I’m glad you asked. You must confess with your mouth, the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved.

Pray- Jesus, I’m a sinner, and I’m separated from God. I believe that you bore my sins on the cross and took my penalty for me. I believe that you died, was buried, and rose again so that I can have a relationship with God. I ask you to save me.

If you’ve prayed that prayer and are fully persuaded in your heart that Jesus is the only way and have asked Him to rescue you, we welcome you to the body of Christ. You must connect to a local body of believers who believe and practice the word of God.

Be blessed!

Until next time…

Dreams

Do you dream? What is a dream? Dream is defined by Merriam-Webster as a series of thoughts, images, or emotions occurring during sleep. Dream is defined by Strong’s Concordance (G1797) as “to dream”. Joel in Hebrew (Yo’el) means ‘YAHWEH is God”. Wow! During the time that the book of Joel was written, three things were taking place, the judgment of God’s people for their sin, the judgment of foreign nations, and finally Joel calling God’s people to a place of repentance. The Lord also prophesied of blessings that were coming to His people if they repented. What would the blessing be? It would be the promise of the Spirit. Joel 2:28- It shall come about after this That I shall pour out My Spirit on all mankind, And your sons and your daughters will prophesy, Your old men will dream dreams, Your young men will see visions. Even on the male and female servants, I will pour out My Spirit in those days.

Why are dreams so important? Dreams are important because that’s one of the ways the Father communicates with us. The major way that He speaks is through His Word (The Bible). If you are not reading the Word or are unfamiliar with His Word-The, Father is not doing much speaking to you in your Spirit. Why do I say that you ask? Jesus Himself knew the Word and even quoted to the enemy and said It is Written!  Why do you think one part of the Armor of God is the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. We must read the Word of God. And everything that the Father speaks to our Spirit will be in line with His word. (Pardon me-that was a little detour 😊) The Father provides direction, answers to prayers, and warnings through dreams. It is vital that we know the source of our dreams, as dreams can also come from the enemy and our Soul (mind, will, and emotions). Prayer (communion with the Father) is the key to dream interpretation.

The Father communicated through dreams in both the Old and New Testaments. In Genesis 20 Abraham, while journeying with Sarah because of fear, said to Abimelech that Sarah was his sister. But God warned Abimelech in a dream not to touch her. This was a warning dream. The Father also warned the Wise men by a dream that they should not return to Herod as he commanded. Matthew 2:11-12. “And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary, his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh. And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way. Again God provided direction and warning this time to Joseph. Matthew 2:13-And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him. When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt: And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, OUT of EGYPT HAVE I CALLED MY SON. Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, accordingly to the time which he had diligently inquired of the wise men. God warned Joseph through a dream that he was to flee from Egypt because Herod sought to kill the promised Messiah. What is the Father warning you about in your dreams that you are ignoring that could cause your demise??

In Genesis 20:1-6. Matthew 1:18– Joseph, the stepfather of Jesus, had a dream about Mary his wife before the dream mentioned earlier. “Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on the wise: When as His mother Mary was espoused to Joseph before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her publick example, was minded to put her away privily. But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for He shall save His people from their sins.” The Father was conveying to Joseph that Mary had not cheated but that the child was conceived by the Holy Ghost, and that child would be the Savior of the world! Hallelujah. He provided direction and prophesied the future hope to the world.

The Father gave Joseph (Jacob’s son) prophetic dreams and the ability to interpret dreams. The first dream God gave Joseph he prematurely shared with his brothers who were already jealous of the love his father had for him and the dreams only amplified their hatred for Joseph. Gen 37:5-11. Joseph went through many uncomfortable circumstances in His life that I believe caused Him to question the validity of His dreams. However, in God’s perfect timing, the dreams came to pass, and Joseph was able to feed the inhabitants of Egypt as well as his Father and brothers during a time of famine. Gen 42-45. What prophetic dreams is the Lord giving you?

When you dream, you must record them in a journal or a voice recorder. For one, it shows God that you’re a good steward over the message that’s He communicating. Secondly, it’s important to jot them down because there are some dreams that you will not receive the immediate interpretation for. Some dreams you won’t gain the understanding of until after it has come to pass, making the journal extremely important as a reference tool. REMINDER: WRITE YOUR DREAMS DOWN!!!

Let’s pray

Father, it’s in the name of Jesus that we come before you. We thank you for life, health, and strength. We thank you for your mercy and grace. Father, we ask that you continue to speak to us by your Spirit through your Word and through dreams. We ask for you to give us a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of you: that the eyes of our understanding being enlightened; that we may know what is the hope of your calling, and the riches of the glory of inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of your power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of your mighty power is. Father, we thank you for your protection, in Jesus’s name. Amen!
