2020 is a year that I’m sure we’ll never forget. This year was filled with shock, awe, loss, and pain. Yet it was also a period in which families had the opportunity to reconnect, spend more time together, and appreciate life and each other. Even though many of us were not prepared for this year, God was. He knows the end from the beginning. Revelation 22:13 “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Nothing catches Him by surprise!
The things in our lives that seemingly catch us off guard, God the Father had foreknowledge of-even our deviations from the plan. The divine design for our lives includes many twists and turns as opposed to the straight and safe path we envisioned. Life can knock you down. I know all too well. I had “a woe is me” mindset for so many years. I blamed God for many things that occurred in my life. I often asked why me, or why did you allow this to happen to me? I walked around, feeling rejected and unqualified. (still working through this) I love the adage that God doesn’t call the qualified, He qualifies the called. If we could carry out His plan in our strength and wisdom, we wouldn’t need Him. God’s plan is impossible for the natural man. To fulfill His purpose, we need His SUPER on our natural to operate in the “supernatural.” Many of us believe that this walk with the Lord is free from trouble, hurt, pain, and challenges. Jesus never promised us a life without challenges. John 16:33 “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of cheer; I have overcome the world.” It seems easy when you’re not going through. Amid a storm, we may feel alone-but be we must remember that He said He would never leave us or forsake. “God is not a man, that He should lie, neither the son of man, that He should repent: hath He said, and shall He not do it? or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good.” Numbers 23:19. People may lie to us, but our Father is incapable of lying, for He is the epitome of truth.
We also have a part to play in this thing called life. Some decisions that our parents, grandparents made, and some of our choices were not a part of God’s original plan. He gave us free will (sometimes I wonder why, lol). However, even when we go off course, the Father works to get us back on track. Romans 8:28 “And we know all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose.” Our hurts, struggles, and pain are a part of the plan and are used to mold us into the image of His dear Son.
A close friend of mine always says, “God never wastes anything!” The loss you may have experienced, the betrayal, the hurt, the divorce, the pain will be used as an instrument to bring healing in someone else’s life. We are placed in uncomfortable positions for us to develop and grow. We’re also not ignorant of the devil’s devices, and it is our responsibility to maintain our relationship with the Lord and exercise our God given authority over the enemy.
Remember-It is all a part of the plan!!!
Let’s Pray-
Father, it’s in the name of Jesus that we come before you. Father, we first say thank you, thank You for Your love, mercy, and grace. Lord, even when we don’t have all of the answers, we trust You and know that it’s all a part of the plan. We ask that You give unto us the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of you. We ask that the eyes of our understanding be enlightened and that we may know what is the hope of Your calling. Lord, we want to walk worthy of You and be fruitful in every good work. Help us to put self aside and focus on You and Your will. In Jesus name, we pray, Amen.
Be blessed.
Until next time…
