The vine

While working on my bible study homework assignment and reading John chapter 1, I was reminded of how Christ is our life. John 1:4 “In Him was life”…. In Christ is life… Apart from our connection from Him we can do nothing. Just as in John 15 we see the illustration of the vine and the branches. Jesus is the vine and the Father is the husbandman and every branch that does not bear fruit it He takes away and every one that does bear fruit He prunes it so that it could bear more fruit! Just as the branch cannot bear fruit on it’s own -neither can we bear any fruit apart from our connection to Christ. In explicitly states apart from Me you can do nothing !!! I had to be reminded that it’s not about Keia…. I don’t want to do this. I don’t want to do that. I,I,I. It says in Colossians 3:3 For ye are dead and your life is hid with Christ in God!!! We live not unto ourselves but unto God!!!! When we place our wants above the plans and purposes that God has for our lives -we are in error! I have been distracted lately and indulging my flesh. Romans 13:14 says ”make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof ”. I wasn’t resisting the devil-so that he could flee…. I had the door wide open and in my Fannie Mae Topp voice I was saying : come on in, just come on in! 😂😂 Let’s abide in Christ and stay connected to LIFE!!

Let’s pray…. Father, it’s in the name of Jesus that I come before you, with a heart of repentance. Asking for forgiveness and mercy. I Break every stronghold and thought that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. I pray for wisdom and direction concerning our lives. I pray for strength through the Holy Spirit, to live a life that is pleasing to you. Amen

  2. Hi Keia!

What stood out to me was, “every one that does bear fruit He prunes it so that it could bear more fruit..”
Heard someone talk about this recently, and how we sometimes think it is negative when God is pruning us.
But if you look at the scripture it states that God prunes those who ARE bearing fruit so we can bear MORE.
So if God is nipping at you, pointing out those areas, it is a good thing!

I love your inspirations on this blog. Keep going girl.
