Faith, fear & doubt

Leviticus 15:19-33

In the Old Testament we see how God separated the clean from the unclean. What stuck out to me was the portion of scripture that speaks of when a woman is on her monthly cycle. In those days during that time of the month, women were separated for seven days according to the Levitical law. I now have a better understanding of why the woman with the issue of blood (Mark chapter 5) was so persistent to receive her healing from Jesus. She was ostracized from society due to her condition. She couldn’t interact with anyone. No wonder she spent her life savings trying to become whole. But thanks be to God she heard of this man Jesus….Faith comes by hearing! (Romans 10:17) Her faith was activated and it moved her to action. This woman was considered unclean and was not supposed to be in the throng of people, yet she threw caution to the wind to get what she needed. Faith without works is dead. (James 2-26). Sometimes we are called to do things that are outside of our comfort zone and it’s not always easy-but necessary. This woman by faith, touched the hem of Jesus’ garment and was healed. She no longer needed to be separated she could once again be integrated into society. Faith, fear and doubt all come by hearing. Silence doubt and fear, and choose to trust and rely on the word of God to receive all that is promised to us. Let’s push through the throng and lay hold of Jesus. He’s waiting!

Let’s pray- Father in the name of Jesus we thank you today. We thank you for life, strength and for the protection of our families. There’s so much to thank you for and we don’t have the space to type it all. I pray that you will stir up our hearts to seek you, read your word and live a life of faith. Cause us to be sensitive to the needs of those around us and let us be an answer to their prayers. We love you and praise you in Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
