The word of God instructs us to examine ourselves. 2 Corinthians 13:5 ( Amplified Version) ” Test and evaluate yourselves to see whether you are in the faith and living your lives as [committed] believers. Examine yourselves….” It is imperative that we as believers (followers of the way) examine ourselves and our walk with God to ensure that we are still in the faith. Many of us believe because we belong to a local body we are in a good place. But ask yourself how much of the word of God is evident in your life? How much of the word are we allowing to renew our minds? I’m not speaking of perfection but the condition of the heart! It’s not enough to routinely attend ”church service”, participant in activities, go home, repeat Sunday after Sunday for the rest of your days! Church as usual doesn’t cut it . People come, leave, come, leave, come, leave (you get the point) and nothing has changed. You keep coming and leaving in the same condition. Something is wrong with that! Once again, I’m not speaking of a life of perfection. We all have areas in our lives that have to be brought under subjection to the power of the Holy Spirit. However, there should be SOME evidence of change. Quite often the only time our bibles are cracked open is on Sunday and left closed until the next week. How is your mind being renewed by the word-if your not reading it? Do we pray (commune with our Father)? Is it just during service??? God is calling us higher. There’s so much more and so much He desires to communicate to us!! I’ve been striving to maintain that flow… I have to sacrifice even more to maintain and continuously develop that connection. How can we go through life apart from Him especially in this dark world? I need more than my emotions tickled . We need the word to combat the devil. We need a prayer life to combat the devil. But hey, if church as usual is all that you want, so be it. It’s doesn’t do it for me-never have and it never will. You have to ask yourself this very important question :Am I born again??? That doesn’t mean joining yourself to a local assembly. That means asking God to save /rescue you from your sins, believing that Jesus died on the cross for your sins (paid the penalty) and rose from the dead and through Him has restored fellowship between you and the Father. You have to want to serve Him. It’s personal it’s between you and the Father. I exhort you today that if you do not have the assurance of salvation that you cry out to God and be saved. In the end, if you are not saved all of the other “church”activities don’t matter! Shake yourself , examine yourself, see if you really are in the Faith! I’m praying for you as well as myself that we can stand before Him unashamed and confident that we have fulfilled our purpose here on earth and displayed the love of God!
What is trust?? Trust is defined as 1. Firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability or strength of someone or something. Who do you trust? Is it yourself, your parents, your job, your spouse? It’s ok to have a certain level of trust in people but it MUST never be above our trust for and in GOD!! The arm of flesh will fail but our God will never fail-no matter how things look. Proverbs 3-5: ” Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not rely on your own insight or understanding (Amplifed Version). Do you trust God to protect you and your family, to save your loved ones, meet your needs, heal, deliver you, empower you, use you??? Granted you may not trust God in every area at this point in your life but as you continue living and walking with God you will be confronted with situations and life in general that will cause you to see another facet of who the Father is! Please understand the enemy will challenge you in your mind, your will and your emotions but God and His word are more powerful than he we feel. Fear and anxiety cripple you, believe me I know and it can cause you to make some stupid choices. If we would just trust God and wait for direction we would avoid so many traps, disappointments, and problems in life. I’ve begun to mediate on the following scripture and incorporate it in my daily prayers ” Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your specific requests known to God.”Philippians 4:6 (Amplified version) Pray about every situation and trust God. We can rest in this, He loves us and His plans for us are good ! He’s not like man! Let us rise up in our God given authority, for His word says ” For God has not given us the spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self control] 2 Timothy 2:7 (Amplified version) This scripture ministered and convicted me at the same time. In my current position at work I’m faced with a lot of pressure and I found myself freaking out and making crazy decisions! But God who is rich in mercy – convicted me and exposed the spirit of fear in operation in my life. So join me and let’s take back our authority ! Trust God and let’s fulfill our purpose for the kingdom !
Father in the name of Jesus we come to you asking for forgiveness for not trusting in you! Father expose every area of our lives where we are not trusting you and are limiting your power to move on our behalf. Forgive us! Heal us from our past, where we were told we weren’t good enough, heal us from every embarrassing situation that paralyzed us. Father set us free from these strongholds and empower us by your Spirit to live a life of Faith. Stir up a desire in us for your presence and for your word! In Jesus name we pray amen!!
Much love ❤️Keia
The enemy thought that his plan of separation would work. But GOD had other plans. All things work together for good for them that love God, to them who are called according to HIS purpose. (Romans 8:28)
Check out this awesome word from my Spiritual Father!
“Stop worrying! And, do not worry about not even one thing”, says Paul, in Philippians 4:6a. Next He provides the solution for worry: “…but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving..” Today, let’s look at “prayer”. He distinguishes prayer from supplication and thanksgiving. “Prayer” here is interesting because it comprises a couple of Greek words (Prepare for a lil lesson in Greek). It is Proseuche. Pros, here means not just coming before, or being in front of another person, but there is also an exchange between the two. Then, there is euche, from euxe, which pertains to what someone wishes. Thus, we get a perfect picture of prayer. In the act of prayer we actually come before God. We are in His present. We have an audience with Him. During this time we make our wishes, and desire known to Him. HOWEVER, here, He also makes His wishes, and His desires known to us. True prayer is not only expressing what you want God to do for you, but also asking God, and finding out from Him what He wants from you, and what He wants you to do for Him. There is so much unbalanced teaching today where it is all about what God will do, and wants to do for you, with little emphasis on what He desires, and expects us to do for Him.
This blessed me so… He will be a constant presence on my blog.
Let’s pray .. Father thank you for the ministry of reconciliation in all aspects. First with reconciling us to you through your son!!!! And through those God ordained relationships. Let us never look at prayer the same again !!! It is exchange between you and us! Help us to be obedient to the plan that you have for us! In JESUS’ name we pray! Amen.
While working on my bible study homework assignment and reading John chapter 1, I was reminded of how Christ is our life. John 1:4 “In Him was life”…. In Christ is life… Apart from our connection from Him we can do nothing. Just as in John 15 we see the illustration of the vine and the branches. Jesus is the vine and the Father is the husbandman and every branch that does not bear fruit it He takes away and every one that does bear fruit He prunes it so that it could bear more fruit! Just as the branch cannot bear fruit on it’s own -neither can we bear any fruit apart from our connection to Christ. In explicitly states apart from Me you can do nothing !!! I had to be reminded that it’s not about Keia…. I don’t want to do this. I don’t want to do that. I,I,I. It says in Colossians 3:3 For ye are dead and your life is hid with Christ in God!!! We live not unto ourselves but unto God!!!! When we place our wants above the plans and purposes that God has for our lives -we are in error! I have been distracted lately and indulging my flesh. Romans 13:14 says ”make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof ”. I wasn’t resisting the devil-so that he could flee…. I had the door wide open and in my Fannie Mae Topp voice I was saying : come on in, just come on in! 😂😂 Let’s abide in Christ and stay connected to LIFE!!
Let’s pray…. Father, it’s in the name of Jesus that I come before you, with a heart of repentance. Asking for forgiveness and mercy. I Break every stronghold and thought that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. I pray for wisdom and direction concerning our lives. I pray for strength through the Holy Spirit, to live a life that is pleasing to you. Amen
In the Old Testament we see how God separated the clean from the unclean. What stuck out to me was the portion of scripture that speaks of when a woman is on her monthly cycle. In those days during that time of the month, women were separated for seven days according to the Levitical law. I now have a better understanding of why the woman with the issue of blood (Mark chapter 5) was so persistent to receive her healing from Jesus. She was ostracized from society due to her condition. She couldn’t interact with anyone. No wonder she spent her life savings trying to become whole. But thanks be to God she heard of this man Jesus….Faith comes by hearing! (Romans 10:17) Her faith was activated and it moved her to action. This woman was considered unclean and was not supposed to be in the throng of people, yet she threw caution to the wind to get what she needed. Faith without works is dead. (James 2-26). Sometimes we are called to do things that are outside of our comfort zone and it’s not always easy-but necessary. This woman by faith, touched the hem of Jesus’ garment and was healed. She no longer needed to be separated she could once again be integrated into society. Faith, fear and doubt all come by hearing. Silence doubt and fear, and choose to trust and rely on the word of God to receive all that is promised to us. Let’s push through the throng and lay hold of Jesus. He’s waiting!
Let’s pray- Father in the name of Jesus we thank you today. We thank you for life, strength and for the protection of our families. There’s so much to thank you for and we don’t have the space to type it all. I pray that you will stir up our hearts to seek you, read your word and live a life of faith. Cause us to be sensitive to the needs of those around us and let us be an answer to their prayers. We love you and praise you in Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
Why seek ye the living among the dead?
In this passage of scripture, the women went to the tomb to anoint the body of Jesus. However upon arrival they discovered that his body was not there . The angels wanted to know why they came to seek the living among the dead.
What is dead? Dead is defined as 1) deprived of life, no longer alive 2) having the appearance of death, 3) lacking the power to move or feel. As I read and meditated on this passage I began to think about my life and how many things I am connected to that have no life – dead. At one point it could have been rewarding , edifying but now it’s lifeless.
Why are seeking the living among the dead? Are we seeking to hear from God in a place that’s lifeless-dead? Are we connected to people and in relationships that are not producing life but are draining and dead? Are we so religious that we continue to relate to God in ways that are no longer fruitful- dead? Is our prayer life on fire or are we habitually just repeating words and have no relationship-dead? In this year let us seek to disconnect from everything and everyone that is not producing life -that is dead. Let us cultivate our relationship first and foremost with our Father and then be sensitive and discerning to see who and what we should be joining ourselves to. Let us not waste time on things that are not conducive to life, the abundant life!
Let us pray.
Father in the name of Jesus we thank you. We thank you for life, thank you for mercies that are renewed daily. We thank you for your ultimate sacrifice …. Father I pray in this new coming year that you connect us to people and things that will further propel us into purpose. Help us to be disciplined and diligent as we seek after you and your will. Remove all those people and things that are no longer producing life and continue to cover us under the blood of Jesus Christ. We love you. Amen !
As years pass by and life happens I am learning more and more about myself. I am confronting areas of insecurity, low self esteem, faithlessness, strongholds, immaturity etc and guess what it’s refreshing. I am enjoying the journey of learning of and walking in who God created me to be. Not allowing people to influence and shape me into who they think I should be, react how they think I should react, live how they think I should live. I am being delivered from people and ohhhh the feeling is amazing. In this season I am focusing on myself and allowing the Father to reveal myself to me (and it can be painful when He reveals who you are to you)…. Oh but It’s necessary and It’s for our good. So in this season let’s focus on self and not what this one is or isn’t doing, how we feel this one should behave or not behave, how much this one should have grown and the list goes on. If we focus so much on what someone else is doing we neglect the areas of our lives that need to be brought into subjection!. The Father wants us to pray and intercede for our brothers and sisters, our families , friends and the world . We can’t fix anyone because we can’t fix or save ourselves. We are not Holy Ghost juniors (speaking to myself first) all we need to do is pray, trust God and confront if led to. It is also ok to disconnect from people and situations that are not fruitful.
Let’s pray ….. Father it’s in the name of Jesus that we come before you , thanking you and praising you for your son’s sacrifice so we can be reconciled to you. Thank you for the opportunity to commune with you and love on you! We ask Lord that you help us to focus on allowing the Holy Spirit to shape and mold us into the image of your dear son. Cause us to deny self and desire to walk in the plan and purpose you have for our lives. Let’s us be ever mindful of our brothers and sisters and to cover them in prayer and allow the work of the Holy Spirit to change them. Help us to be example of your love in this world . In Jesus’ name.. Amen
